Full Moon in Capricorn — 9 July 2017 at 2:06pm
A full moon marks the mid-point of the 28-day lunar cycle. Energetically, the full moon is a time of bright lights, high vibes, strong action and emotion. Use this energy to re-visit and revise new moon intentions, complete projects, clean out closets and cupboards, and get rid of anything physically or emotionally you no longer need. This energy is best utilized three days on either side of the full moon.
Full Moon in Capricorn: Mars Opposite Pluto
The July full moon falls at 17° Capricorn with Mars opposing Pluto. Expect extreme and super firey scenarios to play out especially when it comes to sex and money. It’s an intense lunation which means it’s also an optimal time for purging and purification. Bad romance? Send it packing and don’t look back! Rise from the ashes like the phoenix after you burn whatever isn’t working for you. Feelings will overwhelm you like tsunamis one, right after the other and remember—this too shall pass.
There is also the potential for dramatic relationship dynamics to play out especially between women. Jealousy, rage, controlling and manipulative behaviour will take centre stage. The best course of action will be to keep calm and carry on, all the while noting what you just don’t have time or energy for anymore. But this also presents a great opportunity to aggressively pursue what it is you want—don’t hold back! Competition during the days leading up to this full moon will be fierce.
Full Moon June 2017 Summary
With only one degree away from Pluto, the planet of power and intensity that transforms through destruction and renewal, this is as powerful as a full moon can get. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
How to Work with the Full Moon
The goal during this full moon is to dig into the shadowy realms and clear and clean everything that no longer serves you. Once it’s released, transformation can occur.
A full moon (sun opposite moon) highlights opposing forces or polarities in your life (ego versus emotions, your work versus home, or what you need versus what you want). Inner tension and external pressures can lead to conflict and emotions and instincts reach their peak at a full moon. Related to the previous new moon, intentions can now be fine-tuned or completed (it is harvest time). The period between the full moon and new moon is known as the waning phase.
