Go-To Gut and Skin-Loving Green Smoothie

by Christina

Smoothies are the simplest way to get a full serving of fruit and veg in a tasty drink. They’re the winner for busy people who want optimal nutrition but don’t have time during the day to prepare a meal.

I formulated this smoothie recipe specifically for the gut and skin – because we all know that healthy glow comes from the inside. This smoothie is good for your heart, brain, excellent for reducing inflammation and soothing digestion, and most importantly keeping your blood clean and healthy. It’s also vegan!

The best way to balance any smoothie is to include anti-oxidant rich fruits, vitamin-packed green veggies, nuts and seeds chocked full of healthy protein and omegas, with a splash of coconut water for hydration. Feel free to get creative and add anything – kiwi and pineapples up the zing factor when they’re in season.

Here’s an optimally nutritional green smoothie recipe to keep you fuelled and filled:

–           ½ cup organic blueberries

–           ½ cup organic strawberries

–           1 – 2 bananas (depending on your potassium needs)

–           1 cup organic baby spinach

–           2 kale leaves without the stem

–           1/3 cup LSA mix (ground linseeds (flaxseeds), sunflower seeds and almonds)

–           1/3 cup hemp seeds

–           1 tablespoon spirulina

–           1-2 cups coconut water (depending on how thick you prefer your smoothie)

Add all the ingredients into a blender and mix for 1-2 minutes for a smooth, delicious green drink.
