The Future Belongs to Punks & Pioneers: Saturn & Neptune Meet in Aries

by Christina

Everyone’s talking about the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0° of Aries on February 20th, 2026. But prior to that, Saturn and Neptune dance with the anorectic degree of Pisces and zero-point of Aries across 2025-2026, stirring up all kinds of fun stuff.

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction occurs approximately every 36 years, merging the energies of Saturn, the planet of discipline and structure, and Neptune, the planet of dreams and spirituality.

This alignment often results in a tense but transformative interplay between the material and the spiritual realms.

Neptune’s much longer transit through Aries than Saturn marks a period of profound transformation and new beginnings. It challenges you to ponder, “What is life without purpose?” Pioneers will be celebrated, and the flames of war, creativity, and spirituality will be stoked. Embody your inner warrior, forge into the unknown and get ready to blaze a new trail.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and the beginning of a new cycle. Aries, ruled by Mars, the planet of action and energy, reflects the assertive, courageous, and passionate nature of Aries. Aries is the sign of the pioneering spirit and independence, with a strong desire to take initiative. It can also be impulsive and impatient but it is a fresh start for both Saturn and Neptune.

How it might play out

The structure of Saturn dissolved by Neptune will ripple out into society, further accelerating the deterioration of our institutions and long-held belief systems. What we thought was true no longer is. What next?

From here, it’s time to dust off the detritus from the past twelve years. A new crop of spiritual warriors will be born and reborn.

It’s also ground zero for our collective belief in what is right/wrong, true/false and possible/impossible. What you believe creates your reality.

The less you buy into what the group believes—the more you create your own unique life—the better result for you. This is the best opportunity in our lifetimes to wipe clean the contents of our subconscious.

Get punk. DIY. Embrace the primal scream. Break down the barriers to entry. Lead by example.

My advice is to only believe what you can see, touch, taste, and feel—everything else during this transition period might be an illusion. Whoever becomes the US president in 2024 will surely be a disappointment—as will the wars being fought during this time.

Neptune is the tsunami that the Saturnian walls cannot stop. It is the collapse of oppressive structures and the creation of a new form. What religions will finally collapse? Will scientism take their place? Or will we jump straight into the worship of technology and our new AI overlords?

As we go through this collective fog, go slow, rely on your senses, and have faith that you are moving in the right direction. Develop a strong relationship with your intuition and let it guide you.

I hope that during this period, we realize that the pharmaceutical industry and the drug cartels are killing us and that no matter how many pills we take, we won’t feel better unless we truly heal.

Sobriety is the best foot forward. We must build a life we do not want to escape from.

Saturn and Neptune in Aries: Past Cycles and Their Global Impacts

Looking back, we can see clear themes around the innate rights of the individual whenever Neptune and/or Saturn transits Aries. Neptune highlights the higher octave of the ideal, dissolving the control systems put in place.

From 60 – 73 CE, Neptune was in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius: Boudicca and her Iceni tribe revolted against the Romans in Britain. She led the uprising due to a combination of factors, including the oppressive treatment of her people by the Roman authorities, the confiscation of Iceni lands, and the mistreatment of her family. The Romans’ disregard for the rights and traditions of the Iceni tribe, particularly after the death of Boudicca’s husband, King Prasutagus, led to widespread discontent and ultimately sparked the rebellion.

From 1534 – 1547, Neptune and Saturn were in Aries, along with Pluto in Aquarius and just after Uranus in Gemini. Henry VIII ditched Rome and the Catholic Church to install the protestant Church of England. Due to his unbridled desire for a male heir, he reformed an entire religion—one that allowed annulment and a whole slew of other freedoms. Punk AF. But this also led to the dissolution of the monasteries in 1536, the destruction of religious relics and churches, and endless fighting between Catholics and Protestants.

In the US, the last time Neptune was in Aries, from 1861 to 1875, coincided with the American Civil War, which began just a day after Neptune entered Aries. Fought to end slavery and reunite the United States, the Civil War was also based on higher ideals of human rights.

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 1989 coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the disintegration of the Soviet Union, marking a significant global shift towards new political realities. This period was characterized by the dissolution of long-standing structures and boundaries, both literal and ideological (this could also be very important for the ongoing war in Ukraine).

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Russia, which was then part of the Soviet Union, experienced significant political and economic changes. The dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 led to the emergence of the Russian Federation as an independent state. This period marked a transition from a centrally planned economy to a market-oriented system, bringing about profound societal and economic transformations. The post-Soviet era also saw the rise of new political structures and the implementation of democratic reforms, albeit with various challenges and complexities.

These historical cycles suggest a recurring theme of ending old forms and structures, followed by the emergence of new paradigms that focus more on individual rights. This pattern will likely continue with the next Saturn-Neptune conjunction, suggesting significant global and personal transformations are on the horizon.

The punk ethos

The punk movement originated in the mid-1970s, primarily in the United States and the United Kingdom. It was a response to the prevailing social and political climate of the time, characterized by economic hardship, disillusionment with mainstream culture, and a desire for self-expression and change.

Influenced by the raw energy of early rock ‘n’ roll and the rebellious spirit of countercultural movements, punk rock emerged as a bold and confrontational form of expression. Bands such as the Stooges, the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, and the Clash played pivotal roles in shaping the sound and ethos of punk, while iconic venues like CBGB in New York and The Roxy in London provided platforms for the burgeoning punk scene.

The movement was fueled by a do-it-yourself ethos, a rejection of conventional norms, and a desire to challenge established power structures. This paved the way for a subculture that continues to inspire and influence music, fashion, and social activism to this day. Core characteristics are:

DIY: Punk rock promotes a “do-it-yourself” approach to music, art, and self-expression. This includes creating music, producing zines, and organizing events independently. Punk fashion often includes ripped clothing, leather jackets, band patches, spikes, and bold hairstyles. It’s a visual representation of the subculture’s defiance and individuality.

Anti-Establishment: Punk rejects mainstream culture and challenges societal norms and authority. It’s often associated with anti-authoritarian and anti-capitalist ideologies.

Individuality and Non-conformity: Punk encourages individualism and non-conformity. It celebrates uniqueness and self-expression, often through distinct fashion, hairstyles, and attitudes.

Raw and Energetic Music: Punk music is known for its raw, energetic, and often aggressive sound. It typically features short, fast-paced songs with simple chord progressions and rebellious lyrics.

Political and Social Activism: Punk rock has a history of addressing political and social issues, including inequality, injustice, and oppression. Many punk bands and artists use their platform to advocate for change.

Community and Inclusivity: Despite its rebellious nature, punk rock also fosters a sense of community and inclusivity. It provides a space for marginalized voices and promotes acceptance and solidarity.

Overall, punk rock embodies a spirit of rebellion, freedom, and creativity, and it continues to influence music, art, and social movements around the world.
